Gemma Elaine (Powell) Tilley

Gemma Elaine Tilley, 77, of Greensboro passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Wesley Long Community Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Lynwood Lakes Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 PM on Sunday at the church prior to the service.

Gemma was a devoted member of Lynwood Lakes Baptist Church. She was a gifted crafter who found great joy in creating and sharing her work at local craft shows.   Although she began her professional journey in nursing school, Gemma’s career path led her into business records management, where she worked in banking, medical records, and criminal background investigations.

Gemma is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, James Tilley of the home; her son, Tony Maffeo of California; daughter, Denise Grant of Pennsylvania; and her cherished grandchildren, Arielle, Kyla, Elana, Nicholas, and Samantha.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lynwood Lakes Baptist Church, 4206 Williams Dairy Road, Greensboro, NC 27406.
