Travis Ray Green, 58, of Greensboro passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at his home following a brief illness.
Memorial service will be held at George Brothers Funeral Service at 1pm, Saturday February, 28th, 2026. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm at the funeral home.
Ray was born in Guilford County to the late Edgar Ray Green and Nancy White Green. He was of the Anglican faith. Ray was a very intellectual person and had a passion for learning history. He enjoyed learning and gaining knowledge about the early American and Confederate time periods, graduating from Guilford College with a major in US History. He also enjoyed his collections of guns and knives. He was an avid advocate for gun safety and taught classes. He was employed with Gate City Security Agency.
In addition to his parents, Travis is preceded in death by his grandparents Bill and Agnes White and his father-in-law Jay Poole.
Butch is survived by the love of his life, Karen P. Green; children Nikki Poole (Greg Bullock), Justin Chambers, Ben Chambers, and Eric Chambers; grandchildren Lindsey (Abraham), Lizzy, Emily, and Rosie; great-granddaughter Lillian. Also surviving are his mother-in-law Geneva Poole; sister-in-law Carolyn Sellers; nieces and nephews Chris Poole (Lynn), John Ryals, and David Sellers; many great-nephews and great-nieces; and his special friends Sonny and Lisa Bullard, Todd and Susan Hilliard, Jim and Rachel Martin, Jeff and Cathy Martin, Dan and Kimberly Turner, Steve and Jan Maroun, and many more.
Mr. Green was treasured by all who knew and loved him and he will be dearly missed.
